The M.I. Teacher Approach
Throughout my career working with kids, teens, and young adults, I’ve often heard the same feedback from administrators, colleagues, and parents:
“You’re so calm.”
“You understand my child.”
For a long time, I tried to figure out what the secret sauce was- what I was doing that made my classroom and interactions with students feel different. There wasn’t a special curriculum or a well-known behavior system behind it. What I was really doing was tuning in- listening deeply to who my students were as people and what they needed as learners.
When I started to sort through the strategies that made that possible, M.I. Teacher was born.
The M.I. Teacher approach centers on the experience of the child- what motivates them, what drives their choices, and how they can grow into independent, self-aware humans both inside and outside of school. It’s a holistic approach that focuses on how we communicate, what we prioritize, and how we respond to the information our students share with us.
When kids of any age feel heard and trusted by the adults around them, they flourish. M.I. Teacher helps educators and parents build those calm, collaborative relationships that empower kids to grow with confidence.
